I was out for a walk this morning and passed a couple who had music playing to provide a soundtrack for their walk.
This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this.
I’ve been out on hikes in the middle of nature and wilderness only to turn a corner on the path to hear loud music.
To each their own on how they enjoy their adventures.
But it made me consider just how much noise there is in the world, how often we just accept that noise, and rarely embrace pure silence.
In the silence we can hear our thoughts, our minds can wander, and ideas can come forward.
When was the last time you drove with nothing on the stereo; took a walk or run with no music or podcasts; went a day with no tv or soundtracks of any sort in your home?
Try some silence and see what you notice.
