Connection
“I always thought I was listening, but now I realize I was just watching people’s mouths move, waiting for them to stop so I could talk.” -Anonymous
We all want to have impact and influence, to know our work and lives matter. However, goals are often intertwined with title, status, and surface-level success.
To truly lead, to truly impact someone else’s life means to form an authentic connection. This means stepping outside of ourselves to understand someone else’s needs.
What would happen if we took the risk to put our egos aside, quiet our own thoughts and judgements, and instead just listen? How much more impactful might our actions be if they were grounded in something bigger than just ourselves?
Connection requires trust and taking the risk to go beyond the surface.
