Boundaries
"Boundaries are basically about providing structure, and structure is essential in building anything that thrives."
I was talking to a group yesterday about burnout and tips to avoid it.
What always comes up in these conversations is how we set boundaries.
This is a topic becoming even more prevalent with the “quiet quitting” trend.
I unapologetically set boundaries in my day. This looks like:
Protecting my mornings so I can exercise, journal, and set my intentions for the day
Blocking my lunch hour so I have time to take a break and eat
Protecting my evenings so I can be present with my family and feed my personal interests and goals
As a leader, it is important to not only find the structure that supports us in our lives but also that we talk about and demonstrate this behavior to our team. This gives them permission to do the same for themselves.
